Power Washing in Romeo, MI

Romeo occupies a unique position in our service area as a historic village surrounded by agricultural and semi-rural township land in northern Macomb County. The village's older architecture, including homes dating to the mid-1800s, features materials like painted wood clapboard, original brick, and cedar shake that are more vulnerable to Michigan's harsh climate than modern siding materials. The surrounding orchards and farmland generate intense pollen seasons that blanket Romeo properties in heavy deposits each spring, and the rural windbreak patterns can concentrate pollen and agricultural dust against building facades. Romeo's elevation and northern position within Macomb County mean slightly colder winter temperatures and heavier snowfall compared to communities closer to Lake St. Clair, which translates to more freeze-thaw cycles and longer periods of salt exposure on driveways and walkways. The village's mature tree canopy, including century-old maples along the historic downtown streets, creates deep shade that retains moisture and promotes aggressive moss and algae colonization on rooflines, siding, and wooden fences. Summer humidity is moderate but sufficient to support rapid mold growth on the older porous surfaces found throughout the village. The fall season deposits enormous volumes of leaves from the surrounding rural treelines and the village's own mature landscape, creating thick organic layers on roofs and in gutters that begin decomposing quickly and leaving dark tannin stains on every surface they contact.
